Redemption

Hey guys! January seemed to be forever long, didn't it?? Now that it's February, we have a second word to share - Redemption. Redemption is a word we hear a lot, but what does it mean??? Here's my take:
Confession, y’all. As a kid, one of my FAVORITE places was Gattiland. Okay, so, I still love it, but let’s just keep that between you and me. But seriously. I would always go up to the prize counter first to figure out what my goal prize was, and then strategize how to get enough tickets to redeem my prize. Did you catch that? My end goal was to REDEEM the prize I wanted most.
Now, I am not saying we are all overpriced prizes at Gattiland. But what I am saying is this: long before you and I took our first breath, God looked down from heaven to figure out what His goal prize was and strategized how He was going to redeem it. Y’all. WE are His goal prize. JESUS’ death, burial, and resurrection were His strategy.
The most devastating thing was when I didn’t have enough tickets to get the prize I really wanted. When I grew up, I decided I wanted to be the worker who accepted the tickets and gave out the prizes, and I wasn’t going to be one of those who broke the heart of the child across the counter. I can now update you and say I do not work at Gattiland, but just like that worker, we are all in the same position to accept the tickets.
You see, God sent Jesus up to the ticket counter of our lives, with enough tickets to cover the sins of all mankind. His tickets may not have come in the form of small pieces of paper, but they did come in the form of His blood shed on a cross, and all we have to do is accept them.
Ephesians 1:7 says, “In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace;”
To us, redemption is the forgiveness of our sins, but to God, redemption is redeeming His goal prize: YOU.

Dearest Paige,
Dr. Cindy Bunker pointed me to your website and I'm honored to announce that I've forgone my vocational calling and have since elected to seek employment at Gattiland! All joking aside, it's refreshing to be reminded of Jesus' redemptive nature and how we are His chosen elect.
I pray that your return from Ecuador provides a spiritual springboard in your relationship and walk with Christ. As Jose says, "I'll see you later!"
Love and respect,
Uncle Jesse
I really can't imagine that I could be anyones prize let alone our great and might LORD, but I guess we are made in his image and he made us to have fellowship with him as well as to worship him. Thank God I am redeemed!!!
